Un percorso di progettazione a scala urbana, tutto italiano, intorno al tema della sostenibilità.
Due casi studio di rigenerazione, Milano e Genova, come modelli virtuosi di innovazione e crescita qualitativa, il primo, di rinascita e risposta urbanistica all’emergenza, il secondo.
Il tema della sostenibilità, filo conduttore di entrambi i progetti, si declina attraverso alcuni comuni denominatori: l’interazione pubblico privato, il processo partecipato, la smart mobility, il carbon neutral approach, la rifunzionalizzazione dei vuoti urbani o l’ottimizzazione del tessuto esistente.
L’obiettivo, in entrambi i casi, è restituire agli abitanti una nuova città pubblica, funzionale e ospitale, ricca in termini di servizi e di attrattività, capace quindi non solo di rigenerare un’area specifica ma al contrario di muoversi da interventi di microprogetttualità a operazioni di scala territoriale, facendosi volano di un processo di rigenerazione di ampio respiro.
Gli attori di questo processo, analogamente, sono molteplici: team di progettazione, amministrazione, stakeholders interni ed esterni lavorano congiuntamente. La sostenibilità quindi, non si intende esclusivamente come caposaldo della progettazione urbanistica, ma come una consapevolezza diffusa a tutti gli ambiti di lavoro e a tutti gli attori coinvolti.
Chi è Andrea Boschetti?
Architect and city expert, Andrea Boschetti is a Ph.D. in urban studies at the IUAV the Institute of Architecture in Venice, after the prestigious collaborations with OMA Office for Metropolitan Architecture in Rotterdam and Studio Bernardo Secchi in Milan, he founded in 2000 METROGRAMMA, a cutting edge architecture firm that is now known all over the world.
The firm today has a main headquarter in Milan and operating offices in London, Moscow, Dubai, and NYC. Metrogramma Today has more than forty collaborators and consultants. Within a multidisciplinary approach is currently in charge of the development of prestigious architectural and urban projects in Italy and abroad.
Since the early stage of his career, Andrea Boschetti’s passion for the complexity of the cities has allowed his works to boast numerous prizes and awards and, at the same time, to stimulate the international artistic debate.
From the very beginning, winning many international competitions and never giving up pungent and provocative operability against a profession often considered too commercial and not oriented towards the real needs of the human habitat, many of the Metrogramma’s works were distinguished for innovation and experimentation and, therefore, they have become topics of international discussion. Projects of Andrea Boschetti and then obviously of Metrogramma are in all scales, including, among the many in the field of urban planning – the urban densification scenarios for the growth of the city of Bolzano – Habitat BZ 2001 (Gold Medal for Italian Architecture) and the Plan of Government of the Territory of Milan ( PGT2011) – development plan currently in force; while in the field of architecture are reminiscent the residences Domus Malles (INARCH Prize 2010), the project for the new skyscraper for the Lombardy Region (2003) and Scalo Milano City Style (2016), a contemporary shopping centre oriented to the world of design, food, and fashion. Multiple projects abroad include VIPs Buildings in the area of the Losail Marina in Doha, Qatar and the tourist establishment dedicated to the world of skiing, named “Sunny Valley”, in the Urals, Russia.
In the field of interior design, there are, thanks to recent professional association with the London contract division LLEngineering and attributable to the Group Luxury Living (leader in the luxury interiors industry), many projects in collaboration with some of the most famous brands such as Fendi Casa, Home Bentley, Bugatti Home, Trussardi Casa and many others.
Main character in several international exhibitions, including the Barbara Capocchin Biennale (where he was the Director in 2011), he has taken parts in some editions of the Venice Biennale, London and Brasilia. Andrea Boschetti constantly deals with training and scientific advice through cultural programs for universities, artistic collectives, and international magazines. He collaborated with The Plan magazine for over 8 years as a scientific advisor. Today, on behalf of the Mondadori Group, he is the scientific director of iDD (innovation Design District) and the creative director of IconDesignTalks 10, which has set the theme for the year 2019: the hospitable city.
